Knowles lands sixth place finish in Firecracker 40 at Tazewell

Friday night found Jake Knowles in action at Tazewell Speedway (Tazewell, Tenn.) for the Schaeffer’s Iron-Man Series-sanctioned Firecracker 40. Earning the 15th-starting position for the $5,000-to-win A-Main via preliminary events, Knowles marched through the field nine spots in the 40-lapper to place sixth. (Michael Moats photo)

The following night at Volunteer Speedway (Bulls Gap, Tenn.) for the Independence 40, Jake timed in 10th fastest in his group before coming in third in his B-Main. With $5,000 on the line in the feature, Knowles clawed forward four spots early and was challenging for a Top-10 run when he broke an oil line on lap 25.
